Alex Maxwell is running for re-election. He is a long-time resident with deep roots in the area and lives in Clarksburg. His skills and knowledge base span years and provide a level of historical understanding that is definitely a plus at the council table.

His experience includes serving on the Thornbury council before amalgamation, acting as project coordinator for small developers, and owning and operating an orchard and a hard landscape contracting business.

Alex plans to address the current financial concerns by developing strong fiscal policies tied to the delivery of core services, followed by needs and wants, the continuation of the rightsizing of the municipality, and building on the value of the engineering exercise and the $19 million plus cost overrun recommendations by KPMG on July 13, 2026. Any and all options must be explored and entertained for the delivery of affordable housing and water and wastewater infrastructure that works in the overall best financial interest of our taxpayers and residents.
