Meghan Loney has called The Blue Mountains home since 2006 and lives in Thornbury with her family. She is a community leader, youth and family advocate, small business owner, coach and facilitator whose work has centred on bringing people together and turning ideas into action.

Through her professional, volunteer and entrepreneurial work, Meghan has built partnerships across schools, community organizations, recreation, environmental initiatives and local government. That experience has given her a close-up view of both the strengths of our community and some of the barriers people experience in accessing housing, transportation, recreation, services and opportunities to participate.

At the heart of Meghan’s platform is a simple idea: strong communities are places where people know they belong.

As The Blue Mountains grows and changes, Meghan believes we need to plan thoughtfully for the future while protecting what people value about living here — our natural environment, our small-town character, our connection to one another, and the distinct communities and landscapes that make this place home.
