For more than 25 years, the Town of The Blue Mountains has been home to Paul Reale. After teaching at the University of Toronto, Paul founded Mindbridge Education and has spent the past 14 years building and leading the business. He also helped create the Community Matters discussion group and newsletter and has served with local organizations including the Blue Mountains Historical Society, the Royal Canadian Legion and Lions Club.

For the past three years, Paul has been involved in Town issues—attending Council meetings, digging into staff reports and helping residents get answers to their concerns. He is running for Mayor to change how our Town works: bring residents in before big decisions are made, protect what matters as we grow, and know the real cost before we commit public money.

    • Prepare, debate and decide important issues in public with the facts in front of Council.

    • Expect staff to provide the facts, costs, risks and viable alternatives, while Council sets the direction and remains accountable for the result.

    • Give residents a meaningful opportunity to help shape important decisions before the direction is set.

    • Protect water, wetlands, trees, green spaces and other natural assets as growth is planned.

    • Keep farmland working and strengthen agriculture’s place in the local economy.

    • Preserve the villages, waterfront, trails, countryside and local businesses that define our communities and support our tourism economy.

    • Plan and design major projects properly before committing public money to construction.

    • Know the real cost, how it will be paid for and the major risks before Council says yes.

    • Set clear costs, scope, schedules and intended outcomes, with regular reporting so Council can act when the facts change.
