Rachel Gilliland is an experienced municipal leader, entrepreneur, and community advocate with over eight years of elected municipal experience and a proven track record of delivering results.
Known for asking tough questions and making informed decisions, Rachel has championed fiscal responsibility, transparency, responsible growth, and practical solutions that strengthen communities. She has served as Chair of Central York Fire Services, represented residents on regional boards and committees, including York Regional Police, and worked collaboratively with community partners and all levels of government.
Outside of public service, Rachel is a small business owner whose career has spanned finance, publishing, horticulture, and the beverage industry, providing firsthand experience in business, economic development, and community building.
Rachel is running for Council because she recognizes that the community is entering a period of significant change. Growth, housing pressures, infrastructure demands, and economic opportunities will shape the future of the municipality for decades to come. She believes those decisions require thoughtful planning and a commitment to protecting the qualities that make The Town of The Blue Mountains such a remarkable place to live, work, and raise a family.

Rachel will advocate for policies that support local businesses, protect agricultural lands and orchards, and encourage responsible tourism that strengthens the community year-round.
